Where is the bailout for the American people?
This is really where the rubber meets the road. The Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) IS the common person's protection from the failure of corporate execs too concerned with big bonuses and fancy vacations to worry about the solvency of their organizations (i.e. where we put OUR money for safe keeping).
Why is there not a huge public outcry for a bailout of the FDIC? Why are banks - many of which are battered by this tough economy, showing signs in lower profit margins already - being saddled with making these "emergency payments"? Are Sheila Bair and the FDIC trying to sink more banks in an effort to keep them afloat?
If our tax dollars are going to be spent on bailing out anything, shouldn't it be our life savings? Where is the bailout for the common man (and woman)?
This looks like just another attempt for the government to step in and save the day after it destroys banks while making it look like this plan is their salvation. Once again, the citizens of the United States are being duped while we sleep on our feet.
Where is the outcry? Contact your legislators at all levels and command them to represent your interests. That is what you are paying them to do.
